The Sandy Seagull Corner Store opened in May 2015, a fresh start in a space that has been an iconic landmark in Manasquan for nearly 9 decades, and most recently as Pharo's Cornerstore for the past 16 years. It will remain a community destination, carrying on the legacy that Gina Pharo and her sons built it to be.
The Sandy Seagull was an idea conceived by two friends, Tim Gross and Adam Braham. "I grew up spending my summers at the shore. After becoming a Manasquan resident, I was looking for a way to give back to the community that's given me so much and had been devastated by the storm. Gina Pharo and the Corner Store presented the perfect opportunity to build that foundation", says Tim. Adam, inspired by the possibility to start something that matters, quickly brought on board his sister, Allison Braham and friend, Erin Sauchelli, each of whom had fond memories of their time spent on the Jersey shore and who were equally inspired by this idea.
The foundation of the business is "simple concepts done well", not only in the food that is served but also in the products and brands that are showcased. The Sandy Seagull is partnering with Homestead Coffee Roasters of Bucks County, PA to serve specialty coffee and cold brew. Inspiration came from owner Michael Lewis, who started by roasting beans in his family's general store and developed a passion for delivering delicious coffee to everyone. The Sandy Seagull will also feature the artwork of our friend Bo Bridges, world renowned sports and lifestyle photographer, showcasing his stunning images of sea and surf.
