What’s Old Is New Again, Hear What’s Brewing on the Jersey Shore
Manasquan, NJ: At the Sandy Seagull Corner Store our mantra is simple concepts done well. We’re a fast casual beach bazaar with a slightly elevated menu.
What makes something slightly elevated from standard fare? It’s turkey breast sourced locally from Hincks Turkey Farm, house brined and roasted. It’s homemade Jersey tomato jams and pestos that really tie sandwiches together. It’s bread sourced from small bakeries on Long Island, Staten Island and in Brooklyn. The history of the Corner Store involves a place of gathering where everyone is welcome including our customers with dietary restriction. Our gluten free offering showcases Sweet Marie’s Hawaii, Hawaii’s first 100% dedicated gluten-free and allergen friendly bakery and restaurant. It’s the details that matter and we hold ourselves to a high standard in this area.
A century old Corner Store becomes a modern day Bazaar:
Much like we've told a story above about our menu, we want the SS to also be a bazaar for other brands whose stories we like. We're co-branding and featuring Homestead Coffee Roasters from Bucks County, PA. We use a beautiful well-balanced bean from Central America to make our cold brew which we serve from a keg. The cold brew is the base for our best selling Hair of the Dog coffee drink. The brew is topped off with our signature mocha almond coconut mix and has fast become a crowd pleaser.
We like to think of our space as our own little beach bungalow, inspired by vintage surfer style with an updated presentation of modern photography. The amazing photography you'll find for sale on our walls is shot by our friend and world class action sports and surf photographer, Bo Bridges. We plan to have Bo visit Manasquan to shoot some of the iconic Jersey shore surf spots later this summer. All furniture has been created with love from family and friends from Long Beach Island, NJ to Bucks County Pennsylvania. We plan to launch a full Etsy store for Sandy Seagull in the near future.
Giving Back Paying Forward:
Lastly, but most importantly, now that we've gotten the business element off the ground, we're focusing in on the giving back component of our brand. We plan to take proceeds from the Sandy Seagull to give back to a community that gave us this opportunity and is supporting our growth. Furthermore, we’re working with Homestead Coffee Roasters on a "Profits for Purification" campaign to give back to areas where we source our beans from.
We're blessed to have an iconic Corner Store, with 90+ years of history as a foundation to build our brand. We've taken concepts and stories that resonate with us and married them into an offering we call the Sandy Seagull. We hope you enjoy it.
